TEXCOL: A REVOLUTIONARY NEW PAPER FOR PIGMENT TRANSFER PRINTING
ITMA 2019: INNOVATIONS FOR TEXTILES
As diversity becomes an increasingly significant part of the manufacturing process, the new TexCol product opens up a myriad of opportunities for existing sublimation printers.
Utilising the same machinery for Polyester printing, Natural fabrics are now a product option.
At ITMA 2019: Neenah Coldenhove announced the launch of their highly anticipated Texcol® digital transfer paper. A newly developed digital transfer paper that allows you to print on a wide range of natural fibre textiles, using a waterless process.
A revolutionary new product, that removes the requirement for complex pre or post treatments of textiles, offering fabric diversity and reducing both the cost and importantly the carbon footprint of textile manufacturing.
Texcol® is a digital pigment transfer paper, that transfers pigment ink onto Natural substrates.
The process is waterless, and offers the printer an efficient and clean and super fast method of production. Printing onto any cellulose fabric.
Its special properties make it highly resistant to crocking and helps to retain its colour fastness when exposed to light. Excellent for use on textiles in the home furnishing segment, Texcol® is especially recommended for applications on sturdier textiles. Think about curtains, decorative pillows and beddings - which require a high degree of durability that used to be difficult to achieve with the sublimation transfer technology.
Additionally, Texcol®’s multifunctional coating ensures an ink savings of up to 25%. You get a high colour brilliance that you don’t see every day in a finished printing product and avoids the potential for reduced colour gamut that alternate pigment ink sets and processes can often offer.
Texcol® is designed to run on your plotter printers and allows easy transfer with standard technologies. That means further cost savings for the manufacturer, as you can use these techniques without making large investments.
This is yet another leap forward for Neenah Coldenhove whose Sustainability credentials are exemplary:
Thanks to inhouse water recovery management they are able to re-use 95% of the water used for paper production. The company continue to invest in saving and re-using energy.
Currently all energy required by the factory comes out of energy released during the production of paper. Residual heat is used for heating offices and the public swimming pool in Eerbeek.
All Neenah Coldenhove papers contain high quality fibers and can be recycled up to 7 times.
Sustainability is at the heart of the companies ethos. The very foundation of the company is based on nature, and Sustainability has been ingrained in their DNA for decades:
