“Not Fast Fashion, but extraordinary fashion – On-Demand”
The Kornit Digital Fashion Week program held in Los Angeles 2nd-5th November 2021 gathered Fashion Designers, Technology Innovators, Visionaries, Major Brands, Influencers and Celebrities to unveil digitally created designer collections.
This was a ground-breaking event, the likes of which the Industry has never seen before.
The future of fashion production demands a new era of collaboration and knowledge sharing. Only by bringing all stakeholders together can we truly reinvent the apparel supply chain. We need to form new allegiances and partnerships and together invest in a new vision and a new future for fashion design and production.
In the hands of the creative technology is powerful, and the quality and extraordinary creativity witnessed in LA didn’t disappoint. Pushing boundaries to explore new opportunities and production techniques each collection delivered a majestic display of unbridled creativity.
“Yes, we CAN give people everything they want - style, quality, fit, colour and comfort. Garments that are sustainably made, ethical, fair trade, certified organic or biodynamic, biodegradable, recycled, circular, low impact dyed, digitally printed. And all that yummy stuff - Let's wear the change we all wish to see in the world”, commented Marci (Bratman) Zaroff – Eco Fashion Corp.
Collections included designs by:
Vivi Bellaish, threeASFOUR, Guvanch NYC, Naot, Asher Levine, and others from Los Angeles, New York, Tel Aviv, Paris, and elsewhere around the globe.
Incorporating commercial, design, and manufacturing aspects of the fashion industry, Kornit Fashion Week Los Angeles + Industry 4.0 Event presented numerous Kornit partners and customers who are streamlining the end-to-end production experience for localized production on demand, rendering traditional, forecast-based production models obsolete.
“What Kornit is enabling is connecting the virtual world with the physical world. And this is this going to unleash the real creativity of on demand production. It was absolutely phenomenal to set up a micro factory where we designed the developed printed products – Live” – Ram Sareen, founder Tukatech.
Demonstrating Kornit’s far-reaching capabilities for maximizing creativity while minimizing carbon footprint, the event included a fashion runway presentation incorporating 22 visionary fashion designers, in 17 individual shows spanning all four days of the event.
With an eye towards reflecting diversity in all forms—age, size, height, ethnicity, and gender—each designer debuted a new collection produced with end-to-end digital means, in a fraction of the time normally required, sustainably and with exponentially more design freedom.
Attendees experienced:
Proven strategies for shortening production cycles, to capitalize on fast-changing demand driven by consumers themselves.
Taking concepts from creative inspiration to repeatable finished pieces in mere hours – growing sales channels while eliminating overstocks.
Tips for effective e-commerce to sell more, increasing margins and revenue while offering unlimited virtual inventories and products.
A visit to a newly-formed Digital Urban Factory giving new life to a once-thriving analogue factory – realizing Kornit’s vision of nearshoring by connecting global brands with local fulfillers.
Networking, and learning from, like-minded peers and industry leaders focused on digital transformation, sustainability, demand creation, and fashion.
“We’re re-writing the operating system for sustainable fashion on demand, and those who joined us in L.A. will witnessed first-hand that environmentally and socially responsible production is here, offering superior quality, profitability due to a waste-free approach, and more creative freedom than ever,” explained Omer Kulka CMO – Kornit Digital.
“It’s crazy to think that today, we can predict what consumers will want in one year. That is not possible. I don't think I can predict what consumers want - next month. I know that there are some inspirational designers in this room that already understand this very well and are looking for supply chains that can actually make it happen”.
Once we understood what was possible, there was no way we're not going to be part of it. We are excited to be part of this story. I am really, really looking forward to understanding what extraordinary creative minds, given access to extraordinary new tools - can achieve”. Ronen Samuel – Kornit Digital
