LEARN HOW THE COMPANY DIGITAL SPACE CREATED A NEW WALLCOVERING BUSINESS WITH EPSON SURECOLOR TECHNOLOGY
“We initially did a job at a Marriott Hotel some years ago. And that was the pivotal moment - it just got such a good response. From that point onwards, we moved into wall coverings. We've taken on some big projects, we did a job which entailed about 200 square metres of wallcovering. The Epson SureColor S80600 gave us an incredible colour gamut and consistently high production quality – it has just changed everything for us to be honest.”
Digital Space are a family run business based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The business was established over 20 years ago, and they have built a loyal customer base offering a wide range of specialist services including Signage, Exhibition and Conference Display Graphics and Vehicle Wraps and Branding. A large percentage of their business is repeat business or recommendations and they have built a strong reputation for trust, reliability & expertise.
Most of products and services are manufactured in-house to ensure they maintain maximum quality control. Over the years they have also invested in their relationships with suppliers and the supply chain to build a network of trusted stakeholders with whom they have worked with for many years.
They have also recently expanded into the wallcoverings marketplace with the use of Epson SureColor technology and the materials provided by Digimura, supplied by Papergraphics. This investment has proven to be a successful move and strategic commercial success and has served to expand the business into a new market sector where there pre-existing reputation for high quality and service have stood them in good stead.
Digital Space offer custom printed wallcoverings. No project is too large or too small. Service is important to this family business and all customers are treated equally. Customised wallcoverings offer huge growth potential in a sector that continues to expand. Alan attributes their success to the fact that they offer a turn-key solution. They manage every part of the process from the initial site inspection, through printed production and on to fitting which is also part of their service.
“Digital Space can completely transform your interior wall space using Digimura wall covering. We offer a complete service from start to finish, we source or create your image, print and install wall coverings.” Alan Edwards explained.
“To compliment this service, we also supply and fit architectural vinyl which is long lasting product with many different finishes to transform walls, furniture, counters, tables, doors, lifts etc …restyling spaces quickly and low cost compared to using traditional materials and tradesmen.”

Why are printed wallcoverings such a strong product for your business Digital Space?
“We initially did a job at a Marriott Hotel some years ago. And that was the pivotal moment - it just got such a good response. From that point onwards, we moved into wall coverings. We've taken on some big projects, we did a job which entailed about 200 square metres of wallcovering and we just seem to have gotten a reputation for great quality printed and installed wallcoverings, and things are really moving forward. Printing using the Epson SureColor S80600 gave us an incredible colour gamut and consistently high production quality – it has just changed everything for us to be honest.”
What do your customers look for when choosing a customised wallpaper supplier?
“I've got a feeling it is just that we offer a great service and see the job through seamlessly from start to finish. We have a strong reputation and people seem to have confidence in us.”
How has Epson technology helped you to expand your printing business?
“The process has been made so much easier with the investment in Epson technology. We have absolute confidence in our manufacturing technology, and over the last year or so, we have produced some very large installations that wouldn’t have been possible with our previous technology partner.”
What are the most important production requirements for you as a printer of personalised wallcoverings?
“Reproduction of the original artwork is very important, as is colour consistency across the whole installation with no drift. We recently fitted a very long mural and the image had lots of circles, it matched perfectly first time – that’s what we need – absolute confidence in our print process and no waste – our reputation depends on it.”
