WHY EPSON DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY UNLOCKS NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRINTERS AND DESIGNERS

  • Explore the benefits of Epson eco-friendly Resin inks?

  • What to look for when choosing a supplier and print technology?

  • Why digital technology unlocks new opportunities for printers and designers?

Do you know how your wallcoverings are printed. What technology is used by your print service provider and consequently - how environmentally friendly are the products that you create?

Transparency and traceability are key issues for the Interior Industry. Sourcing printed production now demands that we are aware of the cost and consequence of the products that we commission and create. We all have a responsibility to choose wisely.

To do so we must ask more of our suppliers and dive deep into the technology and materials that are used within our industry.

In this video series, Debbie McKeegan, British textile designer and CEO of Texintel, meets with industry experts to explore the Epson SureColor SC-R5000 printer series to discover how this technology meets the industries demand for environmentally friendly printed production using water-based resin inks.

Meet Katja Behre founder of Elli-Popp a design practice that specialises in customised wallpaper design for the residential and hospitality markets who commented “I'm really excited to learn about the new Epson R5000 printer that uses water-based inks.  It's been a great experience to see the resin printer and see my designs recreated. Digital printing technology opens up my creativity. What is also very important to me, and to my clients as well, is that I look for locally sourced materials and a shorter carbon footprint”.

Charlotte O’Reilly, founder of Charlotte Jade an online lifestyle brand offering beautiful furnishing products including wallcoverings commented:

“My clients are very conscious about the environment now, so that's something I always look for when sourcing a print partner.”

Series 2 continues the story of wallcovering production using the SureColor SC-R5000 and delves into the important questions that we must now ask of our print partners.

Building strong relationships with our technology suppliers and stakeholders is essential to commercial success. We must take nothing for granted and explore every opportunity to invest in technology that delivers environmentally secure manufacturing.

Phil McMullin, Head of Sales, Commercial and Industrial at Epson UK Ltd explained:

“The Epson SureColor R5000 printers use a water-based ink. That means it's a very safe product. There's absolutely nothing in the ink that is detrimental to the environment and can be fully recycled.”

Paul Restarick, Pre-sales technical at Epson UK Ltd, also confirmed:

“The SureColor SC-R5000 Resin inks give exceptional colour gamut and deliver the durability you expect from Epson products. The SC-R5000 offers feed accuracy and dimensional stability is therefore achieved. This is an absolute must for wallcoverings to ensure each drop is the same length and equal on each side.”
