Textile Skills Centre Launches Design To Print Competition In Partnership With Prinfab

United Kingdom – October 2026  – Textile Skills Centre has announced a new Design to Print Competition in partnership with Prinfab, the UK's leading digital fabric printer.

The competition invites UK schoolchildren aged 5 to 18 to submit original textile designs or artwork for the chance to see their work professionally printed onto fabric.

The initiative aims to give young designers a tangible, industry-standard outcome for their creative work, while introducing them to the practical realities of textile design and digital printing.

Entries are open exclusively to UK schools, with students able to submit any original textile design or artwork — a repeat pattern is not required.

For those keen to develop their designs further, Prinfab offers to convert artwork into repeat patterns, and Textile Skills Centre provides an online on-demand course, Creating Repeat Patterns for Print, to help students build this skill themselves.

A discount code, PRINFAB10, offers 10% off the course, while a separate student discount link is available for competition entrants.

The winning school and student will receive three metres of their artwork printed onto fabric by Prinfab, alongside a free short online course from Textile Skills Centre.

The competition closes on 9 January 2027, with the winner announced shortly afterwards and notified by email, as well as recognised within the Textile Teachers Facebook group.

To enter, students must submit their artwork as a JPEG file, named with the student's name and school, to competition@textileskillscentre.com.

The subject line should include the school name and student name, and the body of the email must contain the student's name and age, the school's name and address, and the contact details of the submitting teacher.

By bringing together design education and modern manufacturing technology, Textile Skills Centre and Prinfab hope to inspire the next generation of textile designers and demonstrate how creative ambition can be matched with real-world production capability.
