IMAGECO GEARS UP FOR SUSTAINABLE DIGITAL PRINT PRODUCTION - WITH THE NEW HP LATEX 800 SERIES

“I knew that HP Latex technology could be the answer. When I was told a new model was being developed, I requested some test prints. We were blown away with the quality,” adds Swinson-Bullough - IMAGECO ltd. “It really does take quality to the next level.”

Imageco are on an eco-mission to ensure that their business is prepared and fine-tuned for a sustainable future. Environmental efficiency in all aspects of their manufacturing workflow is at the heart of the companies’ current and future development strategy.

From monitoring the production workflows energy usage (by machine or process), to utilising eco-friendly digital printing, green inks, certification and transparency - no stone is left unturned or innovation ignored in their team’s quest for greener production. Their facility in Leeds, UK is a tribute to Nathan Swinson Bullough – co founder of Imageco, and his team’s passion for the environment.

The business has witnessed an increased requirement from their clients to offer sustainably sourced products and base substrates, including the packaging in which they are dispatched - onto developing new partnerships for shipping such as YSDS and their go-green carbon efficient partner service for transportation. Recycling products at end of life in collaboration with Imageco’s clients and environmentally conscious partners is also an area that’s on the radar.

All of these developments and the company’s sustainability goals ensure that Imageco’s clients have access to the most innovative, environmentally efficient products, printed on demand using green technologies and eco-partnerships.

As a wide-format business, Imageco supply the retail industry, events, health care and education sectors amongst others with - POS, Signage and innovative display and interior solutions. Purchasing the HP Latex 800W will add a new environmentally secure technology to their suite of printing equipment and further build on the success of their existing HP Latex 570 technology. But that’s not all. The new HP Latex series is equipped with white ink – and this unlocks a whole host of innovative new product applications and creative opportunities with which they can inspire their clients and generate new business.

An area in prime focus for development by Imageco is the Interior Décor sector where sustainability and creativity go hand in hand.

As this sector expands further to offer customised, personalised interior products, the HP Latex 800 will be a strong production partner for Imageco. Unlocking many new applications and sustainably sourced substrate choices - particularly for wallcoverings where the white, water-based ink, will enable print onto pre-coloured print bases – with many other creative options to explore such as eco-leather, textiles and films etc.

The sector demands durability of print and the HP Latex 800 delivers high quality print with both sharp detail and permeance, and with no loss of print detail when using the white ink (with no loss of whiteness over time). Nathan and the team commissioned a set of samples to ascertain the performance of the HP Latex 800 when compared to their existing Durst Lambda – the results were a great success and Nathan commented:

“I knew that HP Latex technology could be the answer. When I was told a new model was being developed, I requested some test prints. We were blown away with the quality,” adds Swinson-Bullough. “It really does take quality to the next level.”

HP have dominated the print on demand Interior sector since the launch of the first HP Latex series in 2008 as a water-based alternative to solvent ink technologies.

The new HP Latex 700 and 800 series are set to become equally disruptive.

The machine itself is built with sustainability front of mind, each and every component has been carefully considered and uses recycled materials wherever possible in its construction. The new HP Latex has a whole host of intelligent technologies at its core, from software like HP’s renowned PrintOS to functionality and cardboard ink cartridges - and it sets a new benchmark for eco-digital equipment.

We look forward to watching Imageco explore new opportunities with their HP Latex 800W which was purchased from HP’s channel partner Perfect Colours LTD, and we celebrate the Imageco team’s passion for sustainable innovations and their ongoing commitment to deliver print on demand with an environmental footprint.
