[JOBS] TEXTILE PRINT DESIGNER : SEASALT FALMOUTH

Based on the Cornish coast, we're a growing multi-channel lifestyle brand with over 70 shops across the UK & Ireland and over 400 stockists.

Seasalt’s design ethos is to create beautiful and useful clothing that our customers can wear season after season, inspired by our Cornish coastal and creative heritage.

Our unique prints produced in-house are updated each month and play a key role in each collection.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Print Designer to join us, shaping and influencing our ranges and working closely with the product team to create profitable products that reinforce Seasalt values and brand handwriting.
Please note this is a 8 months fixed term contract.

You’ll help us by;

  • Developing authoritative, distinctive and creative print collections that are profitable and sustainable, to excite and delight our customers whilst reinforcing Seasalt brand values and handwriting.

  • Being fully responsible and accountable for your own print designs and build into Seasalt’s print collections, taking a more self-directed approach in line with agreed response to seasonal brief.

  • Working closely with the Design team and your Product Team ensuring that the print reflects the key design messages and departmental strategy.

  • Adhering strictly to agreed critical path and product timetable.

  • Managing an effective and timely print design and development and sign off process, appropriate for product lead time

  • Ensuring PLM is complete and accurate at all critical stages in a prompt and timely manner, enabling other functions to complete tasks on time.

  • Together with your Product Team, working with the Product Marketing Team to convey key inspiration and ensure print story is accurately marketed to the customer.

  • Gathering and presenting organised aspirational colour and print research that demonstrates creativity and a strong aesthetic

The skills you’ll be sharing with the team;

You’ll have a strong print portfolio alongside a Textiles or print related degree.

With a good understanding of the Seasalt aesthetic, you’ll have strong handdrawing skills and a good eye for detail and colour.

Technically, you’ll be a competent user of Adobe Illustrator and also ideally Photoshop.

Good organisation and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to use your initiative and work well at a fast pace and under pressure.

You’ll also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable presenting to others and be an enthusiastic team player.

Please note, this role is primarily based in one of our head office locations (Falmouth or Redruth) with occasional remote working.
