London, UK – July 2026  – British fashion retailer River Island has announced the opening of a new Print & Graphics Designer position within its Kidswear division, based at the brand's Head Office in Chelsea House, West London.

The Print & Graphics Designer will play a central role in the full development cycle of the Kidswear range, from initial concept through to completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying key trends and commercial opportunities, ensuring that every product reflects the distinctive River Island aesthetic while meeting ambitious sales and margin targets.

The position demands a designer with a strong technical foundation and a sharp creative eye. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, alongside a thorough understanding of fabric, engineering, fit and quality. A portfolio of previous design work is required as part of the application process.

Beyond individual contribution, the role carries a meaningful leadership component. The designer will be expected to mentor junior team members, provide direction to Trainee and Assistant Designers, and actively foster an inclusive and diverse creative environment. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience as a Junior Designer or equivalent, a relevant design qualification, and a proven track record of collaborating effectively with Buying counterparts, suppliers, fabric mills, and sourcing teams. Commercial acumen, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for the River Island brand and customer are equally important to the role.
