Following a significant investment into a state-of-the-art digital printing machine, we are looking for a talented designer to bring this capability to life and realise its full potential. Creating beautiful printed designs for both customer commissioned projects and stocked fabric collections, the role is filled with exciting possibilities and creative freedom, and provides a unique opportunity to play a key part in our new venture.

Key Tasks And Accountabilities:

Design, Print Management and Interpretation:

  • Design and develop new digital prints across multiple market segments ensuring the business meets the ever-changing demands of each market area; with a focus on building a leading market position that creates disruption in the marketplace.

  • Responsible for designing prints (customer artwork / original artwork) into repeats as final artwork, including editing, colour separation, recolouring and matching colour.

  • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring new printed products are developed and tested in line with agreed critical path timelines.

  • Support and contribute to the development of the creative vision and direction by providing the relevant digital print expertise and insight required.

  • Ensure that creativity, together with innovation, technical performance and environmental sustainability remains the focus of printed product introductions.

  • Demonstrate a ‘one team’ approach through collaborative working, engaging with internal customers ensuring effective communication, feedback and follow up to eliminate silos.

  • Deliver high housekeeping duties and update records of departmental information using the internal systems accurately and in a timely manner in line with ISO 9001.

  • Such other duties as may from time to time be reasonable required.

  • Research, Trend Insight and Understanding the Customer:Provide support by researching current print trends and utilise this knowledge to be inspirational in expanding the scope of the brand and trend direction.

  • Show an understanding of the global textile market and make informed contributions that drive new printed product proposals.

  • Research and present printed trend directions to the design team, customers and external collaborators as appropriate.

  • Positively contribute to regular, inspiring idea sharing workshops with the Innovation and Technical team to cross fertilise ideas and to drive newness and innovations.

  • Work collaboratively with the Innovation and Technical functions to translate high concept ideas into commercially viable printed products.

  • Make valuable contributions to all design / creative meetings.

  • Produce physical mood boards / digital presentations to inspire our customers to support growth within Digital Print.

Knowledge And Competency Profile:

  • Printed Textiles Design related degree or equivalent.

  • Experience in Print Management software.

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite, Nedgraphics, Print Management Software,

  • PowerPoint and Microsoft packages.

  • An excellent knowledge of all aspects of the printing processes.

  • Knowledge and ability to CAD up print repeats as final artwork, edit, colour separate, recolour and match colour.

  • Creative flair for design and colour with excellent technical print textile knowledge.

  • Drawing and hand painted skills are also advantageous for this role.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent conceptual skills to work up ideas and be energetic about presenting ideas and concepts to customers, both existing and new.

  • Ability to work both in a team and independently with passion and drive whilst demonstrating high levels of resilience and energy.

  • Proven ability to demonstrate new technical solutions and creativity, whilst assessing its commerciality.

  • Have a desire to be the best in everything you do with an ability to create a positive and inspiring culture.

  • Hands on/can do attitude to resolving issues.

  • Ability to think strategically about department issues and develop thoughtful recommendations and action plans.

  • Excellent verbal, written and platform communication skills both internally and externally.

  • Skilled at working with cross-functional teams, project management and product development, often managing multiple projects simultaneously and with tight deadlines for project completion.

  • Drive and energy with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Full Driving Licence.

  • Valid Passport.
