[JOBS] TEXTILE DESIGNER : LIBERTY LONDON

Liberty Fabrics has been at the cutting edge of design and decorative arts since 1875 and now forms an international artistic institution, working with designers and global brands across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and Home.

As a textile designer on the bespoke team, your main focus will be to develop our printed fabric crafting collections.

You will be reporting into the Bespoke design manager and working closely with the junior designer on concepts, colourways and design selection.

We are looking for someone who can interpret our rich design archive in exciting and innovative ways as well as creating designs from scratch, while ensuring that the collection has a strong Liberty aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on our printed fabric crafting collections.

• Develop mood boards and concepts.

• Follow direction and curate the selection of initial designs.

• Interpret and work from archive designs as well as creating new art work.

• Meet with our distributers and sales team and take on their feedback where appropriate.

• Create art work and develop the collection, so that it feels in line with the Liberty handwriting.

• Manage the critical path to ensure deadlines are met.

• Develop the collection within deadlines set on the critical path.

• Work closely with the production team at our Italian printing mill.

• Create artwork and colourways in Photoshop and illustrator.

• Producing AVA colour ways and repeats (training will be provided.)

• Supporting marketing, generating material for social media project support.

Who we would love to see:

The right candidates for this role will have a love of Liberty Fabrics a strong in art and culture and have commercial experience within a similar role. We would love to see exceptional design handwriting and hand drawing skills, and working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Knowledge of AVA would be beneficial.

International travel may be required for tradeshows and supplier visits.
