We sell our pyjamas worldwide, predominantly through our website and in the top retailers (places like Selfridges and Net-a-Porter).
We are a dedicated and inspiring team of 25 that put our values of comfort, creativity and celebration at the heart of everything we do. After an exciting period of phenomenal growth during 2020 and 2021, we’re looking for our next Print Designer.
Summary Of The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Print Designer to expand and innovate our print offering both in pyjamas and other products for around the house.
Working across womenswear, menswear and kids, your role is to to interpret the Creative Direction and Design vision into innovative print designs.
You would report to our Head of Design and work collaboratively with our Head of Product and their team during the product creation to ensure the quality standards our customers expect from D&D are met.
The right candidate will be highly creative, product driven, an excellent collaborator and problem solver. You’ll be comfortable thinking on your feet, a confident decision-maker and a top-notch communicator.
We’re looking for someone who has 3-4 years of experience in a similar role and wants to be part of a business that is at a very exciting stage of their growth trajectory and can provide plenty of career opportunities.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Paint and draw original print artworks by hand
Work collaboratively with product design, pattern and development teams from concept to completion aligning on seasonal direction, trends, timelines and customer insights.
Research seasonal theme and inspiration, print and colour concepts in collaboration with the Development team via fabric fairs, shopping and visual research, galleries etc.
Explore and design print within our continuity business
Produce clear technical artworks,, communicating details of which to the development team and/or factories in order to develop accurate first prototypes
Participate in design reviews, developing prints from painting to sign off.
Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure they are up to date on print development process.
Maintaining a constant trend, consumer and market awareness to innovate our continuity offering whilst experimenting with fashion forward seasonal prints.
Work with the development and sales team on planning the range.
Work with other members of the team to prepare range plans for internal and external buy meetings.
Preparation for presenting collections to the wider teams, receiving feedback and actioning any subsequent amendments.
Thoroughly handover designs to wider teams ensuring the marketing and communication departments have all the correct print information.
Regular visits to stores, galleries and concessions to remain in touch with the retail environment and creative community.
General day to day administrative tasks, archiving collection work , keeping design boards up to date.
YOUR PROFILE
Talent, versatility and experience in creation of hand made print designs
Strong passion for art, design and fashion
3 - 4 years in a similar role
Graduated from a Design BA course, MA course or industry equivalent training
Significant experience in a designer role in the premium sector
Highly creative and strong understanding of customer needs
Excellent research skills
A good technical knowledge of artwork creation
Ability to work well in a fast paced and creative environment
Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office suite
Written and oral fluency in English
