AWG is now looking for an experienced, creative and focused Senior Textile Designer to join their Design team.
Someone who creatively thinks outside of the box, has a deep technical understanding of textile design, the industry and processes.
You will be forward-thinking, looking for the next trend and have creative ambition.
Reporting to the Design Director, Laura Spencer, you’ll be expected to share ideas, schedules and costs on a regular basis.
Based in our state-of-the-art Studio the ideal candidate will be required to have the following:
4-5 years of experience in designing and developing fabric collections with comprehensive technical knowledge of weave processes.
Be highly experienced in developing and building fabric collections within both the domestic and commercial sectors.
Have a background in working with international weave and print suppliers.
Have excellent CAD skills (AVA, Photoshop and Illustrator)
Be well organised, with excellent communication skills required to liaise with customers and suppliers.
Have excellent creative judgement with a good eye for colour, layout and composition.
Be confident in presenting concepts and collections.
Be able to work at pace, delivering to deadlines.
Highly self-motived.
Duties include but are not limited to;
Creating new artworks, producing repeats, recolouring, and making sure files are print-ready.
Creating new fabric collections from the initial concept right through to photography.
Liaising with suppliers globally to source new qualities, negotiate prices, develop new product and approve qualities and colours.
Following seasonal strategy, design, innovations and trends for collections.
Gather inspiration and innovative design ideas from a variety of sources.
Maintain critical path dates to ensure deadlines are met.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with various high-profile brands, departments, suppliers and mills to deliver brand collections.
Be involved in all approval stages from design, development and production.
Must have a good sense of colour design and materials.
Create and present new collections to various partners and departments.
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm
