The Team

We are proud to host our very own in-house studio, which is occupied by over a dozen highly skilled artists who conceptualise, rework and hand-draw artworks to create hundreds of new fabric designs every year.

As our Junior Print Designer, you will be an integral part of our Bespoke Team, who are world renowned in creating collections inspired by history, cultural icons and our incredible archive of over 50,000 prints. ( and growing!)

The Role

As our Junior Print Designer you will support our Regional Design team in researching, designing and colouring textile designs for Liberty Fabrics customers in the China, & Middle East market.

You will also be responsible in supporting on bespoke colouring requests for international apparel customers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake China focused research and create working colour palettes and inspiration boards to inform design and print direction.

  • Research and report on emerging Chinese fashion trends through regular presentations.

  • Adapt designs to be relevant to market needs, changing compositions, scales and layouts of seasonal print collections for specific markets.

  • Work on bespoke projects for key customers which may involve the creation of original artwork under the guidance of the Lead Designer.

  • Supporting Lead Designer on fabric design approvals for Japanese market

  • Design support on capsule collection for the Japanese apparel and drapery market.

  • Design and colouring development for customers in the Middle East region

What We Would Love To See From You:

  • Strong creative handwriting in drawing and painting and designing for repeated textile design

  • Trend awareness for the China fashion market and experience in working on regional designs for this remit is a must.

  • Mandarin speaking preferable but not essential

  • Colour expertise, understanding of international trends and tastes

  • Proficient in CAD software- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and AVA. ( Can be trained in AVA)

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
