Job Description:

To design Print and graphics for core and seasonal ranges across M&S.

To support and assist the Designer in designing the total range and create artwork packs.

To develop knowledge and skills within design and line management working towards the role of Designer.

Global responsibility for T Department(s)/ Collab Projects.

Key Accountabilities And Measures
• Deliver key print looks across departments through the seasonal Design Briefs.
• Take ownership of the print and pattern for ranges under the direction of the Senior Print Lead to meet key brand handwriting strategy and price points.
• Collaborate with the Buying/Technical team to agree the range/production techniques and create Artwork Packs for these designs via PLM.
• Work with the Designers and team to meet critical path deadlines and deliver the right print and graphics at the right time with a high hit rate.
• Work with and support the Designer to co-ordinate day to day activities and produce a high standard of prints, graphics and Artwork Packs on PLM.
• Create Print Design boards/presentations and techniques boards to inspire and drive the brand handwriting.
• Has an in depth and up to date knowledge of print techniques used within the industry in order to deliver the best product.
• Respond to evolve trends e.g., catwalk to ensure the print offer looks modern and stylish.
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of the M&S customer and strong ability to anticipate their product needs.
• Inputs into the Design Brief, strategies, range reviews and reviews as appropriate
• Participates in strike off approvals making recommendations to deliver the best product.
• Coordinates, motivates and acts as mentor to Graduates and Design Assistants where appropriate on projects or tasks.
• Close links with creative print studios and suppliers as appropriate to tap into latest print trends.
• Proficient in Design IT applications to optimise the quality of design work e.g., Photoshop, illustrator, CAD, Kaledo etc

Key Skills
• Expert in the field of print design with previous design experience within the industry
• Strong adaptable print and graphic handwriting with an eye for colour and detail
• Ability to identify key print looks/trends and translate into stylish, commercial prints across multiple products and substrates.
• Multitask orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path.
• Strong understanding of print processes, and placement techniques to ensure product integrity,
• High level of proficiency in print and graphic design using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design
• Multitask orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path.
• High standard of Artwork packs to send to Sourcing Office via PLM
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with Designers /Buying/ Technology Merchandising
• Print Designer potential
