[JOBS] HOMEWARES DESIGNER : DUNELM STORES
We are a hugely collaborative group of designers, creating amazing value products that co-ordinate perfectly together in the home - with a demanding remit to provide direction for our wide and varied range of brands.
These include Dorma, Fogarty, The Edited Life, Churchgate, Elements and of course our parent brand, Dunelm.
We are now looking for experienced colleagues to grow and complement our highly successful team in leading the design in two of our key heritage categories:
Sleep – which includes the holistic bed & bath experience, with particular focus on bedding & bathroom textiles.
Window treatments – which includes ready-made & Made to Measure curtains, blinds, shutters, tracks & poles.
With a love of all things fabric, you will have technical knowledge or experience of the processes of textiles manufacture, the various benefits and properties of different fabric qualities, and an instinctive eye for interior design trends.
You will drive forward the creative direction of the category, from concept to finished product.
Reporting to a Senior Design Manager and working closely with the category commercial team, you will:
Research lifestyle & product trends which will influence the product range, and work with your design colleagues to deliver a seasonal product direction guide.
Study insight data to identify commercial opportunities.
Take a principal role in helping to deliver our ambitious sustainability targets.
Produce a visual strategy document for your area & confidently present it in category strategy meetings.
Get involved in developing and sourcing fabrics, trimmings and finished products.
Work closely with our established supply base, briefing & directing their design teams
Supplement the design work from suppliers with additional design work where needed.
Help to build a range which reaches our wide customer style remit at all price levels
Understanding of fabrics, weaving and/or printing techniques will be critical.
Ability to paint & draw a bonus but not vital to the role.
Use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator will be required for the role, but training can be given to improve skills where necessary.
