[JOBS] TEXTILE DESIGNER – BESPOKE FABRICS : LIBERTY LONDON

The Role

Liberty are looking for an experienced textile designer to join the Bespoke Fabrics team.

The role will be to support the Bespoke Design Manager on the development of bespoke fabrics projects.

This role involves developing designs for Luxury wholesale customers as well as creating new designs in response to customer briefs.

Other areas of the role include working on capsule collections including swimwear, luxury base cloth capsules, collaboration projects and Liberty Tudor store exclusives.

This role also includes working with our Italian print mill on the development of fabric bases for our collections.

Key Accountabilities:

• Assisting the Design Manager for Bespoke with day to day projects and briefs.

• Creating art work from wholesale customer briefs, this can be creating designs that draw on Liberty’s rich archive or creating new art work in response to a brief.

• Working on repeat print designs for capsule collections including swimwear, luxury bases, collaboration projects and Liberty Store exclusives.

• Preparing boards for presentations and key meetings.

• Researching themes and concepts based on direction from the Design manager for Bespoke.

• Working with the Bespoke Design Manager on the development of colour stories based on concepts and mood boards.

• Archiving and filing projects on completion.

• There is some occasional travel that is part of this role (mostly Europe)

What we would love to see:

You will have a passion for fashion, art and culture, with industry experience designing textile prints for fashion.

Have exceptional handwriting and drawing skills, with an excellent use of colour and ability to create colour stories when needed.

Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, You will have a BA hons textile design degree, and  the ability to create beautiful repeat patterns while also able to re-interpret archive designs and redraw archive files.
