[JOBS] EXPERIENCED TEXTILE DESIGNER : VOYAGE MAISON GLASGOW

We have a hugely exciting opportunity for a Textile Designer to join our vibrant studio at our Glasgow HQ.

Voyage Maison is a leading fabric and interior furnishings brand based in Glasgow who have an exceptional reputation for designing beautiful and unique collections to adorn the home. Creation and design of our products is organic and begins in our design studio, where our talented team create unique ranges of fabric and home furnishing products.

We have a distinctive hand painted watercolour look that defines our Brand. As well as designing we also print our own fabrics using advanced digital technology. This inspires a UK and worldwide customer base ranging from interior designers, leading department stores, garden centres and gift shops as well as a significant and highly valued B2C customer base.

The Role:

With a natural flair for design and colour you will work alongside our team providing support in all aspects of studio life. Immediately you will be immersed in the full design process from initial design to final product launch.

This is a very varied role that will allow the successful candidate to flourish and grow working across multiple home interior product groups. As well as designing, other aspects of studio life involve photoshoots, styling, exhibition planning, brand literature, working on our websites and supporting the design team with product sampling and admin tasks to keep our busy team running smoothly.

Our new team member will be an enthusiastic hard working design guru with an optimistic attitude who loves working as part of a team in a very fast paced vibrant studio. The following attributes are essential.

  • Strong portfolio exhibiting your exceptional artistic skills in drawing and painting.

  • Formidable sense of colour and an adaptable handwriting in design with the ability to produce innovative creative pieces are essential.

  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail who can oversee a project from initial concept to finished product.

  • Outstanding communicator who is exceptionally organised and has an ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • A solid awareness of the Home Interior market and an understanding of current trends in fashion and interiors.

  • Confident in Adobe CSS – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

  • Educated to degree level in Textile design

  • At least 2 years experience in a Textile Enviroment

  • Enjoy working as part of a close team within a fast paced, busy studio environment.

Advantageous:

Confident presentation skills.

Experience in AVA CAD CAM.

Driving Licence.
