[JOBS] JUNIOR PRINT DESIGNER : MARKS AND SPENCER LONDON

M&S Clothing & Home is changing, and fast! We are undergoing one of the biggest transformations in retailing today to build a bigger, better clothing & home business.

We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Junior Print Designer to join our Sleepwear and Lingerie Team, this designer should have experience in slogans/placements and conversational print designs.

You will be part of a function that is responsible for delivering outstanding print design across our lingerie and sleepwear department.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about design and willing to push the print handwriting to the next level. You will work as part of an enthusiastic and fast paced team, delivering beautiful and contemporary print solutions across the BU.

Key Accountabilities And Measures

  • Work as part of the Print Team to deliver print across the BU

  • Take ownership of a product category, and design print under the direction of the Senior Print designer

  • Contribute to trend research and identify and communicate key print opportunities for the BU

  • Work with designers to ensure prints meet the aesthetic requirements of the product, considering scale, fabric substrate and price point.

  • Knowledge of print techniques

  • Deliver all print requirements to meet BU critical path dates

  • Assist in creating design boards, design publications and design presentations

  • Collaborate with other Print Designers across Clothing & Home to make best use of resources and identify XBU opportunities

  • Utilise proficiency In Design IT applications to optimise the quality of design work e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, 3ddi etc

Key Skills

  • Expert in the field of print design with design experience within the Retail industry

  • Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail.

  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

  • Experience in creating print ready artwork for production. Including repeat and colour separation, with an understanding of print techniques and fabrics.

  • Multi-task orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path

  • Challenge print handwriting and push boundaries within the BU

  • Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with other functions
