[JOBS] PRINT AND TEXTILES DESIGN ASSISTANT : SALONI
We are looking for a Print Design Assistant to join our Textiles team, to assist with the seasonal ranges and special projects.
This position will be a fast paced and varied role, sitting between the mainline fashion collection and new homeware line.
It will suit someone highly creative with sound administrative skills, ability to juggle multiple projects, a great eye for detail and colour, and a love of all things beautiful.
Responsibilities will include:
• Visual research, painting and drawing around a given theme for use in prints, jacquards, embroidery and special projects.
• Assisting with design development for print, embroidery and jacquard, producing relevant design options to be presented to senior designers and creative director.
• Re-colouring prints, making repeats and other technical assistance within print and fabric development.
• Assisting with print, fabric and embroidery specs for swatch development. • Making placement artworks for print and embroidery.
• Placement print cutting instructions for suppliers for sampling and production.
• Working with graded patterns to adapt sampling print placements and embroidery artworks for production.
• Checking print files to ensure no mistakes in fabric production.
• Ensuring print, fabric and embroidery names and codes on line-sheet are correct and consistent with the sampling fabric overview, to ensure a smooth transition from sampling to production.
• Clear communication of creative and technical ideas to fabric mills and suppliers.
The ideal candidate:
• A textile design graduate with at least one year relevant industry experience (including internships). BA / MA / or equivalent qualification in Fashion Textiles Design.
• Competent in hand drawing and painting.
• Highly organised, with a luxury handwriting in design and colour.
• In-depth technical understanding of textiles design processes, including print, embroidery and woven jacquards.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
