[JOBS] ASSISTANT PRINT DESIGNER : RIXO LONDON

We're looking for an Assistant Print Designer to join the Print Team at RIXO reporting to the Senior Print Designer.

You will work as part of an enthusiastic and passionate team assisting the creation of print artwork & daily function of managing print/textile developments through to production at the highest standard.

We are looking for a highly organised individual who has an extremely high taste level with an eye for colour and beautiful vintage print references.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting our Senior Print Designer to ensure handover of designs and sample requests are communicated well as well as sending out clear artwork tech packs for our suppliers to follow.

  • Assisting in the creation of original painted artwork, scanning and then cleaning up in photoshop.

  • Updating and organising the print archive, colour & strike off libraries.

  • Give clear artwork and colour comments on strike-offs. Using excellent communication with the suppliers & updating the critical path with approvals.

  • Assisting the Senior Designer to create and develop artwork repeats and colourway options in photoshop for design meetings, ensuring these meet the Creative Directors brief.

  • Assist working on embroidery and embellishment layouts.

  • Sending & tracking all early print/embroidery/fabric developments.

  • Updating Design boards and Vintage archive.

  • Overseeing management of print uploads in PLM system.

Requirements

  • You have a Design/Textiles Degree with a specialism in Printed textiles and an understanding of fabric/ print/embroidery techniques.

  • You are naturally creative with excellent hand drawing and painting skills.

  • You have an excellent eye for vintage, colour and artwork compositions. You have a high taste level and can design artwork of a premium quality.

  • You are able to understand and learn the fabric selection process with the varying print artworks/techniques.

  • You have great communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. With proven experience of creating artwork tech packs and communicating with suppliers from working in a similar role/placement/internship.

  • You are exceptionally organised individual able to multitask and display strong attention to detail. You are eager to develop and improve working processes.

  • You are a great team player with excellent time management.

  • You are experienced in using Adobe Photoshop to a professional level (experience in using Illustrator is a bonus). You have the ability to visualise print concepts through CAD in Photoshop.
