[JOBS] TEXTILE PRINT ARTWORKER : COUNTRYSIDE ART
Countryside Art Ltd are a niche design, print and manufacturing company offering quality UK-made kitchen textiles plus other UK-made outsourced giftware products to many leading organisations such as National Trust and The British Museum through to a diverse range of customers such as individual designers selling through on-line platforms.
We are looking for a second full time Graphic Designer (Artworker) to work alongside our current Designer, in close co-operation with our Design Co-Ordinator, plus the rest of the Sales & Admin team in a spacious and very friendly office environment.
We work with a wide range of clients ranging from large professional organisations, with their own design studios, through to smaller customers, new to ordering their artwork on to textiles and giftware products, who require quite a lot of assistance and support.
We have a range of standard products on to which we adapt the customers’ designs. We also offer bespoke products too. So it will be necessary, over time, to acquire a great deal of product knowledge in order to become fully trained.
The design team interact, on a daily basis, with the customers so good communication skills are essential.
For the successful applicant there will be a large amount of interaction and support from the rest of the team as we all work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome for each customer.

Essential Skills: -
A very good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and particularly Photoshop. (We mainly use Photoshop in the preparation of artwork for both the digital and screen print).
To be able to contribute ideas to enhance the customers’ designs and to make their end products as commercially successful as possible.
A good designer’s eye for balance and colour.
The ability to monitor and control work-flow in order to maintain production within the required time-frame.
Good literary skills. It is most important the successful candidate can write well-worded emails that interact with the customer.
A welcoming, professional and friendly telephone manner.
A great attention to detail.
The ability to work closely with colleagues in a team environment.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially Outlook.
The job involves: -
Being able to assess artwork and advise customers on how we can achieve the best results on the wide range of products we offer.
Speaking to customers over the phone, and assisting with design queries, in the process of preparing their visuals.
Ensuring submitted artwork files are the correct quality. If not, then liaising with customers to assist them with supplying suitable artwork to ensure a successful end result.
Creating initial pre-production visuals from the customer’s supplied artwork.
Carrying out any amendments if required.
Once approved preparing the artwork for print. Full training will be given for this part of the job as we are aware that very few candidates will have knowledge of preparing files for digital or screen print.
When the job goes to production, following up with the print teams if assistance is required to amend any aspect of the print.
Becoming trained in how to run the digital textile print machines, as it is important to understand the principles behind how they operate in order to be able to manipulate the colours. Plus it enables the design team to be able to offer cover on rare occasions when we are short-staffed in the digital department.
Additional Skills: -
A background in design or in the print industry is essential for this role.
