[JOBS] TEXTILE DESIGNER HOME PRODUCTS : JOHN LEWIS PARTNERSHIP

As a Designer in the Textiles Product Design team, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering original, relevant, customer-centric and distinct best in class own brand products, utilising customer insights, to inspire, excite and delight our customers & deliver planned growth for categories.

The successful candidate will be designing bathroom textiles and bedlinen.

In addition, you will take a supporting role in design projects, working independently, alongside or in collaboration with the Designers and Trading community.

What will you be doing?

  • Play a critical role in delivering product design that will form a coherent category assortment aligned to brand / sub brand guidelines and in service of our customers.

  • Assists in the research, preparation and presentation of relevant and appropriate category trends. Demonstrate a good level of research and analytical skills to keep abreast of key customer requirements, market trends and conditions, product trends including technological advancements

  • Produces precise design packs and fulfils delegated seasonal design briefs with commercial and innovative solutions, supported by illustrating / briefing / sourcing key materials and details.

  • Develops product design handwriting, displaying a breadth of design handwriting to ensure our customer offer is truly unique.

  • Ensure the sampling process is efficient.

  • Works on designated product ranges/projects and takes ownership of design, product development and sampling process, engaging relevant stakeholders throughout, with the support from the Category Lead.

  • Support the Design Team and studio in fulfilling key tasks across the season.

  • Demonstrate continuous improvement.

What you'll have

  • Adobe Creative Suite experience (Illustrator / Photoshop) and NedGraphics

  • A track record of credible creative achievements

  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of the John Lewis & Partners brand, the values and potential for products

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, excellent communication and presentation skills

What else could you bring?

  • BA degree in Design ( fashion, textiles, surface pattern, decorative arts)

  • Relevant industry experience within a design studio
