[JOBS] TEXTILE DESIGNER : PARRY MURRAY LONDON
Responsible for creating original artwork and designs for Parry Murray collections.
Has knowledge and experience of textile processes, including weave, print and embroidery.
Has excellent knowledge of the high end interior design market and furnishing fabrics.
Works closely with clients on customer projects from sampling stages to final production.
Travels to India to work with factories, travels to customer’s studios in the UK and some travel to the USA. Is able to anchor the daily running of the Design Studio in the absence of the Senior Designer and Design Manager.
Design Development
- Create original artwork, considering target customers, and bring innovative ideas to regular design meetings
- Create innovative qualities with suppliers
- Works with Senior Designer and Design Manager, researching trends, qualities and colours
- Write sample requests for the factory, considering qualities and price points, with accurate CAD spec packs
- Makes changes in colour, scale or quality to existing designs from the Parry Murray collection to suit the requirements of the customer once a design has been reserved
- Puts research into presentations and mood boards, and presents these along with Senior Designer to Marketing Teams
- Liaise with the company’s factories and Marketing Managers on a daily basis to manage the critical path for both customer projects and PM development samples

- Checks samples/designs against quality specifications and discusses with the suppliers to make the necessary changes.
Studio Administration
- Manages Design Assistant/Junior Designer in the upkeep of the Design studio
- Manages the Parry Murray documents and design archives along with the Design Assistant/Junior Designer
- Works with the rest of the Design Team to produce exciting content for Parry Murray’s Instagram
- Works closely with marketing teams to prepare for customer visits and sales trips, and follows up with with them after marketing trips
The Candidate
- A Designer with a hands-on attitude, who can take initiative beyond their role
- At least 3 years experience in a similar role
- Someone who has innovative ideas to push our qualities and designs to elevate us in the high-end textile design market
- A friendly and confident individual who enjoys working in a team
- Excellent photoshop skills are essential
- Knowledge of AVA software beneficial
- Full knowledge of Microsoft suite (especially Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Full knowledge and use of apple mac
