Manage the in-season delivery of the print direction across Lingerie
Personally design print for Lingerie
Deliver pre-season print trend research and direction - working closely with Trend/Colour Team to deliver cohesive looks across the BUs
Key accountabilities and measures:
Manage the delivery of the print direction across the BU and personally design print for Lingerie.
Responsible for print brand handwriting and ensuring all departments deliver a confident, stylish and cohesive print message.
Work collaboratively with senior print designers across Womenswear/Lingerie/Kids Trend team to identify overriding trends and interpret these for Lingerie to target the sweetspot customer.
In depth research of print trends including global research, trade fairs, trend companies, print studios, exhibitions etc where appropriate to feed into Trend Design Lead
Identify and drive key print looks across departments (Lingerie, Sleepwear, including Rosie & Autograph) through the seasonal Trend & Design Briefs to deliver confident print statements and print efficiency. Drive these through the process
Deliver regular updates on key print messages from continual research e.g. catwalk to ensure the offer looks modern and stylish for the customer
Coordinate the Print design resource to deliver consistently high standards of print concept to tech pack ready artwork to send to Sourcing Office
Utilise the most appropriate resource and handwriting to deliver each print project across M&S and sub-brands, Core and Seasonal
Close links with print studios and suppliers as appropriate to tap into latest trend looks
In depth and up to date knowledge of print techniques used within the industry to deliver the best product linking into the appropriate Fabric Development Technologist
Build effective working relationships with Sourcing Office teams to maintain up to date knowledge of each regions print capabilities
Coach and develop the print designers identifying and acting on training and development needs
Manage print artwork budgets
Expert in the field of print design with significant design experience within the Retail industry .Close links with external print studios, expert in industry print techniques, (eg Digital, Sublimation, half tones etc), cost engineering and interpreting original artwork into commercial prints.
Ability to identify key print looks/trends and translate across multiple products and substraits
Ability to utilise resources flexibly, efficiently and identify best route to deliver
High level of proficiency in Design IT applications (Adobe software) to optimise the quality of design work e.g. Photoshop, illustrator, CAD
Multi task orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path
Strong Communication and Influencing skills , engaging with stakeholders to influence buy in to seasonal direction.
