[JOBS] DESIGN ASSISTANT MENSWEAR : MARKS & SPENCER

We have an opportunity to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract till March as a Design Assistant.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, creative individual who can work collaboratively within our close design team.

The candidate should demonstrate an eye for style and trend whilst self-motivated, super organised, uses own initiative, possessing problem-solving skills, excellent communication style and enjoy being part of a great team.

The design assistant plays an important role in the design team in supporting and assisting with all aspects of administration duties to ensure on time delivery of design presentations, garment design briefs and colour palettes, and ultimately the product launch in store.

You will have a line manager who will mentor and support you to perform the below activities.

What you’ll do…

Support the Design team through delegated tasks covering trim development, PLM support, CAD support and general research for Designer.

Create clear and detailed CAD work supporting Tech pack creation. Create colourways of CADs. s

Researches and sources images under direction. Create stylish design boards under guidance to deliver strong and clear design messages.

Set up and prep rooms for design presentations and meetings e.g. seasonal design briefs

Shop for samples and research material under guidance and direction from design team. Create a methodical and detailed approach to logging bought and original samples for the department

Flex time and priorities across the team according to workload to ensure critical path deadlines are met.

Who You Are…Your Skills And Experience Will Include:

Design Degree or equivalent

Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail.

Ability to create trend boards under direction and set up products for seasonal design briefs and presentations

High level of proficiency in Design related CAD software to include Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design

Multi task orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path
