[JOBS] ASSISTANT DESIGNER KIDSWEAR : MARKS & SPENCER
We have an exciting opportunity within the Kidswear design team for an Assistant Designer.
Working alongside both the Older and Younger boyswear designers you will be part of a fast moving department with lots of challenge and growth across multi product apparel.
Helping the team to up our style credentials through trend research and development of product with a keen eye for detail is key.
As one of the leading Kidswear retailers in the UK, there are exciting opportunities to work across Licensed product and special projects outside of the core ranges.
Key Responsibilities
Work alongside the Junior Designer/ Designer to deliver the global product direction.
Support the Designer with the co-ordination of day-to-day activities.
Work with the Designers to meet critical path deadlines and deliver the right designs, at the right time.
Support the Designer on producing a high standard of Tech pack and hit rate on Direct.
Support the Designer to deliver Design Briefs to Indirect Suppliers when required.
Create 3D CAD’s using photoshop /illustrator in order to show true representation of product for range reviews and tech packs.
Contribute as an active member of the Design team to work within a commercially focussed culture.
Support the effective working relationships with our Sourcing Office teams and Suppliers.
Able to research global retail and trend. Identify and communicate key opportunities.
Key Skills
Expert in the field of design with design experience within the Retail industry
Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail
Knowledge of trend interpretation, current competitive marketplace, and product design
Experience in briefing and specifying direct design sourced product, working with Technology/Design and Buying to create high standards of Tech Packs.
High level of proficiency in Design IT applications to optimise the quality of design work e.g., Photoshop, illustrator, CAD.
Multitask orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the Design and Buying critical path.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Attend and participate in department fit sessions
CLO software experience preferential for 3D Design.
