FREELANCE PRINT & TEXTILE DESIGNER – RALPH & RUSSO

We have an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Senior Print & Textile Designer to join Ralph & Russo.

Your role will to insure print, hand-painting and embroidery designs remain relevant and push boundaries to create a commercial collection.

 You will be inspiring the embroidery & design teams to create beautiful artworks for Client Orders,Haute Couture, and Ready-To-Wear Collections.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Head of Artwork Design and Creative Director to research, design and develop Hand-Painting and Print direction for clients orders, Haute Couture and RTW collections.

Create original artwork for textile development from start to finish

Consistently research new print techniques, hand-painting techniques, materials and embroidery and inspire the textile design team with new concepts

Work closely with the Head of Artwork Design and Embroidery Designers on new techniques and artwork when needed.

Research local and international markets for colour/print/fabric/embroidery trends each season

Design original artwork placements, being mindful of technique, colour, fabric and silhouette direction

Work with the Head of Artwork Design to ensure costs are kept to a minimum without compromising quality.

Maintain a print and hand print technique archive – updating all information and keeping accurate records

Paint swatches, samples and assist with retouching client orders as and when necessary.

Requirements

Previous experience working in Embroidery Design and between 3 to 5 years of experience in Print and Surface Development

Incredible ability to hand paint onto fabrics and hold both commercial and technical knowledge of embroidery

Highly organised and ability to prioritize workload

Demonstrate a can-do attitude and is resilient

Capacity to work well under pressure

Very creative and curious, but also strong attention to details

Strong Photoshop & Illustrator skills

Degree in Print design and Surface treatment
