About The Job

We’re looking for a Junior Print Designer to join our Monsoon Design team.

This is an exciting opportunity assist and support the department and Print Designer/Senior Print Designer in developing and designing original print ranges in line with overall Monsoon Accessorize brand strategy for the season which is in line with the handwriting and business objectives.

What Will You Do As Junior Print Designer?

  • Trend research and Sourcing - Identify seasonal trends as appropriate for the Monsoon Accessorize brand including key fashion prints, colours and prints for the season.

  • Support the print team in full print process, from creating to getting production ready with repeats and colour formatting.

  • Contribute to and oversee strong and new reference material including industry knowledge and research for the department to use throughout the season. Ensure identified trends are completed through to sign off stage.

  • Create unique, in-house prints which deliver newness and commerciality for multiple categories. The ability to work cross department is key.

  • When required, attend and annotate meetings, when more senior team members may not be present.

  • Compile strong reference material, including researching and compiling mood boards and colour palettes.

  • Producing / creating print briefs to be developed with freelance team.

  • Ownership of print categories and deliver print direction for department

  • Support the print team on administrative based tasks

  • Responsible for critical path planning of design time for own categories

  • Where required assist in the planning of the Critical Path for product areas, ensuring effective communication with suppliers and relevant team members

  • Meet deadlines and support print team to deliver print collections

  • Motivate and Inspire print department and wider team

  • Assisting in overseeing design assistant and any relevant freelance support, when required

What You Will Need To Succeed As Junior Print Designer?

  • Experienced and established junior designer with creative and technical ability to design print artworks to be used across a multi-product collection.

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about print.

  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under own initiative and mange own department, as well as supporting the wider team.

  • Confident and articulate communicator with an ability to build strong working relationships.

  • Ability to deliver to tight timescales and work well under pressure

  • A good eye for colour and trend

  • Ability to demonstrate and understanding of ‘brand handwriting’

  • CAD Skills/ Drawing & Painting Skills

  • Efficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programmes
