[JOBS] TEXTILE PRINT DESIGNER—GES INTERNATIONAL

GES International is the London based office of Akbaslar, a Turkish manufacture, who produces its own fabrics and garments for UK and International retail brands. Our London team, based near kings cross, are looking for an experienced print designer to join them on a maternity cover basis.

As print designer, you will work as part of the Design team to create exciting, commercial print designs and colour ways relevant to our customers and current market.
Salary dependant on experience.

Duties

  • Communicate with our factory – discussing sampling requirements.

  • Dealing with issues arising with sampling and designs.

  • Working to critical path and managing samples as required.

  • Supporting in sample preparation for selection meetings.

  • Working in a small but supportive working environment in a close-knit team.

  • Ensuring projects are completed on time.

  • Develop prints into repeat and scale to be production ready

  • Producing commercial colour ways using Colour Xpress software

  • Designing prints for womenswear, menswear and childrenswear

  • Researching commercial print and fabric trends

  • Communication with suppliers and buyers to ensure their deadlines and needs are met

 

Required Skills / Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supplier-based company or high street retailer, candidates without experience will not be considered.

  • Efficient at producing repeat and placement prints suitable for production

  • Excellent photoshop skills, Illustrator a plus

  • Ability to problem solve and translate trends into different retailer’s handwriting

  • Be hard working, dedicated and enthusiastic with the ability to use your initiative confidently

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong commercial eye for colour

  • Team orientated as well as an ability to work individually

  • Knowledge of Colour Xpress would be beneficial but not necessary (training will be given)

  • Understanding of the UK high street retailers and commercial print and fabric trends
