[JOBS] TEXTILE DESIGNER : THE ROMO GROUP

Are you currently a Designer looking for the next step?

The founding brand of The Romo Group, Romo, are looking for an experienced Designer to join us!

You will work in collaboration with the wider team of Textile Designers to create exclusive designs that meet the ethos of the brand.

Working with the Design Team, Brand Director, external suppliers, and internal departments to deliver quality fabrics and wallcoverings to be launched into the international market.

What Will You Do?

  • Creating original, unique, and exclusive designs for a variety of applications

  • Collaborating with colleagues focusing on colouring and design development

  • Interpreting trends appropriately for the brand

  • Checking and approving samples including liaising with the Quality Control department to organise sample testing.

  • Working proactively with all members of design, buying and production teams, supporting and developing business relationships to ensure successful results at all levels of the product journey.

  • Liaising with suppliers to provide feedback on trials and developments throughout the design and production process.

  • Visiting suppliers to assist in overseeing fabric and wallcovering production.

  • Working in collaboration with the Design Team to ensure deadlines are adhered to.

  • Proactively researching into design and colour trends

  • Attending trade shows and exhibitions when required.

Requirements:

  • Have a high achieving degree in Textile Design or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience as a Textile Designer in a commercial setting.

  • Exceptional drawing and design skills

  • Excellent sense of colour with a good understanding of printing and weaving techniques

  • A strong knowledge and previous experience of CAD

  • Good knowledge of all aspects of the commercial fabric printing and production process including digital, rotary, and flat bed

  • A sound understanding of Intellectual Property rights and all aspects of copyright related to design.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all members of the design team and with other relevant departments.

  • Be flexible and practical with task management and with an ability to work under pressure and within time scales.

  • Support the business for 12 months, with the possibility for the role to grow and develop.
