TEXTILE DESIGNER INTERIORS

Salary negotiable depending on your experience

Full Time – Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Our client is a long established, industry leading organisation who offer bespoke textiles and tailor-made manufacturing services to the high end interior design market.

They are seeking a Designer to join their busy team at their offices based in Croydon, Surrey.

The main responsibility of this position is to design textiles for customer led projects as well as in house collections.

You will ensure the smooth and time efficient running of the critical path for both in-house development samples including customer development samples and keep the studio and archive organised at all times.

Other duties include:

Produce commercial and innovative design solutions to set briefs.

Support the designers with end-to-end development of productsResearch, develop and collate trend information for presentations in team meetings

Work collaboratively with designers and senior designersLiaise with the company’s factories in India on a daily basis to manage the critical path

This role would suit someone with a passion for luxury, high end designs, a love of colour and a motivated character to combine these two elements to create and produce beautiful, commercial designs and develop their career within the industry.

Essential skills required:
Previous experience within a similar role within a home textiles design studio

Knowledge of luxury interiors market within the UK, USA and Europe highly desirable

Proficient in Photoshop

Ability to separate and colour CAD files

Good knowledge of layout and repeats

Expert hand drawing and painting abilities

Knowledge of woven textiles jacquard and hand loom, printing silk screen printing and block printing, CAD and hand embroidery
Other skills required:
Excellent communication and organisation skills

Able to prioritise workload with exceptional attention to detail

The ability to use own initiative, multi-task and work under pressure

Positive and enthusiastic attitude to work

Confident in producing ideas mood boards and presentations and acting on these through trend research

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel

An interest and awareness of different surface design techniques is highly desirable
