[JOBS] FREELANCE TEXTILE PRINT DESIGNER

JANE CARR– London, England

 We are looking for a talented, creative and experienced freelance textile designer specialising in print to join our team.

Based at the head office in London, the freelance textile designer, will contributing to the women's and collaboration collections, and will have experience within a similar a role.

This role would suit someone who is looking to progress within an internationally-expanding, exciting and dynamic brand.

Educated to degree standard in print design (for fashion textiles)

  Passionate about fashion and trend-aware

  Minimum of 2 years studio experience

  Excellent research skills

  Outstanding presentation skills

  Ability to develop initial concepts into finished print designs

  In-depth knowledge of market and relevant product areas is essential.

  A solid understanding of seasons, deadlines and working within a busy design studio.

  The Successful candidate will have a good understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign programs.

  Excellent knowledge of luxury and premium fabrics and mills.

Responsibilities:

1.      Produce innovative all over and placement prints that relate to the seasonal brief and JC aesthetic.

2.     Develop artwork by hand and source archived material to use for manipulation in order to create printed artwork that is relevant to the Collection.

3.     Generate research and concepts, developing themes and design ideas, working out scale, colour, repeats and presenting ideas/ designs reporting to the Design Director.

4.     Ability to develop initial concepts into finished designs/samples
