Camira, a leading innovator in high-performance transport textiles, has announced an opening for a Textile Designer to join its team in developing the next generation of sustainable, commercially successful fabrics for the transport sector.

The role represents a significant opportunity to influence the future of an industry increasingly focused on sustainability and technical excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing visually distinctive, high-performance textiles that balance creativity with rigorous technical and environmental standards.

Working from initial concept through to market launch, the designer will play a central role in strengthening Camira's position as a market leader in transport textiles.

Key responsibilities include leading projects through Camira's New Product Introduction process, researching emerging trends and future technologies, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver innovative solutions.

The designer will also represent Camira at customer meetings and industry events, presenting concepts through mood boards, digital visuals, and technical presentations.

Camira is seeking candidates with proven experience in textile design, preferably within the transport or carpet industries, and a degree in Textile, Surface, or Print Design or equivalent experience.

Strong technical proficiency in Nedgraphics, Scotweave, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office is essential, as is a portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical understanding, and commercial awareness.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with excellent time-management skills, a proactive approach, and a full driving licence.
