This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced studio designer/colour separation artist to take the next step up into a more senior role

Ivo Textiles is a leading textile manufacturing company based in West London and is proud to have been printing fine textiles and wallpapers in the UK since 1963.

We produce Printed Textiles mainly for furnishing fabrics and wall coverings for many market leaders as well as contract commissions for palaces, embassies, private houses and hotels.

A love of interior textiles and knowledge of screen printing is essential.

The role requires excellent drawing and CAD skills as well as outstanding people and communication skills to support the studio team, liaise with our customers and the production department.

You will also need to demonstrate strong organisational skills and be able to handle multiple projects within time driven deadlines.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To;

· Taking lead responsibility for the studio – staff and customers

· Overseeing work of other studio staff, providing support and training as needed to ensure a motivated and happy team

· Carrying out any necessary training to enable studio staff to carry out their roles.

· Liaising with directors and advise on any issues, ie. Projects, staffing, equipment, health and safety etc.

· In coordination with directors, helping develop strategies for sales, pricing and departmental structure.

· Advising customers on practical and cost effective print production.

· Dealing with customer enquiries; taking design briefs; preparing quotations; arranging meetings etc.

· Scanning originals and prepare artwork and separations according to brief.

· Checking digital files for print readiness and advising digital production coordinator of new customers’ colour match requirements.

· Outputting films for flat screen printing and check films for repeat.

· Liaising with customers to produce artwork to approved standard.

· Ordering rotary screens from external supplier.

· Scheduling screen engraving and liaise with production for priority.

· Liaising with relevant departments for other production requirements or to arrange any screen remakes and sampling.

· Being on hand for any sampling of new collections and supporting

· customers on site as needed.

· Ordering stocks/supplies for studio and screen making as required.

· Completing any paperwork and administrative tasks relevant to the role.

· Keeping studio area clean and tidy.

· Supporting other departments as needed to ensure customer needs are met.

· Additional hours may be required according to business demands by arrangement.

· Carrying out any other role as reasonably required by the company.

Qualifications and experience

· Relevant professional qualification is preferred, ie. BA in Design Textiles.

· At least 4 years experience in a textile print studio carrying all roles required by a textile designer/colour separation artist in liaison with a print production setting

· Customer service experience essential.

· Experience managing/supervising staff preferred and/or formal management training undertaken

· Indepth knowledge and experience of computer aided design in relation to textile printing

· Knowledge of AVA is preferred however training will be given if needed.
