Job title: Print & Textile Designer

Job Purpose: Accountable for designing prints & textiles with a strong fashion direction encapsulating the attitude of JW Anderson.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the design team with creative research for the seasonal mood board with image references and textile research for print design, technique, embroidery, typography and colour palette.

  • Putting forward new experimental concepts for show collections. Design and development of original and innovative print / woven patterns for RTW, knitwear, accessories and collaborative capsule collections. 

  • Mocking up prints and textiles to illustrate scale and colour on garments, working closely with designers on silhouette.

  • Creating technical drawings, engineered prints and specs. Working on brand identity elements for print, embroidery and other applications.

  • Assisting fabric team to sign off on prints at strike off, SMS and production stage.

  • Assisting fabric team with critical path to meet sign off and product review meetings.

  • Creating creative content for digital element of the business.

Skills And Experience Needed:

Technical Skills

  • Degree in print/textile or graphic design.

  • Confident screen printer.

  • 2 or more years of experience working for a luxury brand in a fast-paced environment in a similar role.

  • Experience industrializing prints for commercial production

  • Strong research, concept and creative skills.

  • Strong drawing skills with a varied hand. Computer Literate in Adobe  – Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

  • Strong ability to realise ideas in 2D and 3D with a quick turnaround.

  • Full understanding of both contemporary and luxury market. In depth knowledge of fabric and prints with technical knowledge of textiles.
