THE ROLE
We have an opportunity for an experienced Print Designer to join our team within the Wallis brand.
This role will see you focus on designing and creatively developing commercial print artworks for the Wallis customer.
You will lead the print direction with the team and drive Wallis forward through research , identifying and interpreting key print trends

What You'll Be Doing
Create innovative and inspirational print designs that are reflective of our Wallis brand DNA
Creatively and strategically driving the print department, hand painting/drawing elements for artworks and digitally prepare them through photoshop/illustrator
Create artworks to the highest technical standard, using clear, original and industry standard repeats, colour separation and a confident understanding of print techniques and garment construction
Present design concepts and designs to the Buying Director and wider team
Communicating all artworks in a clear and consistent way to suppliers, using accurate and informative spec sheets to ensure design vision is met
Actively engaging in seasonal research, analysing catwalks and drawing influence from a wide range of sources, presenting and sharing research packs with the team
Collaborate with the wider design team to build stories, colour palettes and print direction, ensuring all prints are commercially viable
Working closely with design and buying teams to develop artwork repeats/placements and colourway options for design meetings and ensure business objectives are met
Reacting to sales information, you will be reliable for designing commercial fashion forward prints, updating best sellers and ensuring newness is delivered
Support buying team with feedback and colour comments on strike offs, liaising directly with suppliers
Working closely with the design and buying team with critical path management, utilising clear and timely communication and problem solving to ensure deadlines are met
Have a good knowledge and comprehension of working with print studios and print mills
More About You
Proven experience in a Print Design role, preferably with a in house womenswear brand
Strength in a variety of creative skills including hand painting and free hand drawing
Strong understanding of print techniques and supplier capabilities
Highly creative with an ability to build on inspiration and experience in designing own prints from concept to artwork
A strong sense of colour and an ability to build trend, with a high level of commercial awareness
Be able to work under pressure and within a tight deadline
Excellent knowledge of Adobe, confident using photoshop and illustrator
A natural collaborator who can confidently work cross functionally
