About The Job
We are looking for a Junior Print Designer to join the Design team at Hobbs.
This opportunity will see you focus on developing our distinctive print ranges for both Ready-to-Wear and Occasionwear, from initial concept to final production.
As Junior Print Designer, you will assist the Print Design Manager and the two Print Designers in creating unique prints for our collections.
This will involve creating hand-drawn and painted artworks while also managing essential administrative tasks.
Key Accountabilities Include;
Creative and Design: Research and contribute to the development of creative mood boards at the beginning of each season, create hand-drawn and painted artwork and develop prints into commercially viable repeat sizes.
Print Artwork Management: Send out print packs, colour standards and artworks to suppliers in line with the critical path
Communication: Work effectively with the Buying Team and wider Design Team, collaborate with the print team to establish a consistent brand aesthetic.
Trend Awareness: Stay informed and curious about fashion and lifestyle, including both aspirational and competitive brands to Hobbs.
Efficiencies: Assist with print updates and artwork send-outs following range review meetings and trade add-ins.
About You
The Junior Print Designer will be able to demonstrate commercial experience in a print studio, supplier, or similar fashion/retail role.
This role would suit an Assistant Designer looking for that next step in their career.
Full proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential for CAD print development.
Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for colour are crucial in this role, along with a collective approach and a keen understanding of colour and design trends.
