Job Title: Garment &Textile Inspector

Travel: 20% of the time
Daily Rate: £220 - £250
As a Garment & Textile Inspector you will be responsible for performing Quality Control for our UK clients on an ad-hoc basis.
Perform in-coming material checks, during production checks and final random inspection on finish products and packaging.
Measure garment dimensions, check function of closures, buttons, zippers and other accessories.
Verify the correct packaging and labelling.
Test fabric for conformance to quality requirements.
Identifying, recording and reporting faults and deviations from specifications or production problems in an inspection report.
Comply with supplier and SGS standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure safe work practices.
Work to high standards of quality, within a strong safety culture and a good working knowledge of SGS integrity rules.

We are looking for Garment & Textile Inspector, with experience in the textile industry. The successful candidate must have an excellent understanding of garment construction and textile manufacturing.
You will need to be skilled in the use of hand held measuring equipment and have a good level of competence and understanding of interpreting drawings and textile specification.
Skills / Experience:
Fully experienced with all inspection/measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs and hardness checking equipment’s.
Fully experienced in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
You must be able to remain calm under pressure especially in situations when quality requirements may conflict with production demands.
Capable of working with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables.
Good interpersonal skills and to work well in a team.
Good numerical and literacy skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and internet.
Understand and be familiar with textile defect classification such as minor, major and critical defect.
Understand the top technique how to check garment workmanship and measurement.
