Purpose Of The Role:
This role is responsible for sourcing and developing fabric, prints and trims for all product categories at Agent Provocateur. With a keen creative eye, this role with develop unique and exclusive fabric and trim within company margin requirements whilst adhering to the brand integrity of Agent Provocateur.
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
Sourcing and developing all fabric and trims from research through to initial concept and finally into prototype sampling, in line with Creative Directors vision and brand aesthetic
Ordering and delivering all sampling materials directly with the mills and in line with the Critical path
Organising regular appointments with fabric mills and agents to make initial selection to present to Creative Director and Design Team
Visiting global trade fairs and liaising with fabric mills to stay up to date with new innovative and creation within the textile industry
Researching and sourcing new mills on a global level (US, Europe, Asia) to fulfil the product requirements
Holding seasonal fabric presentation with the Creative Director and Head of Design – presenting strong seasonal colour stories, demonstrating fashion awareness and sharp creative eye
Regularly updating the design and product teams to ensure all developments are signed off in line with company standards and CP deadlines; attending weekly Design meetings and be prepared with all relevant information
Working closely with Head of Design to ensure fabric selection has a breadth of price points to sit in line with company pricing architecture
Working alongside the fabric technologist for all fabrics at the beginning of the season, highlighting any concerns with regards to quality and testing to ensure minimum requirements are met
Working alongside the fabric technologist to overcome fabric failures or faults and notify Product Manager
Frequently updating and maintaining the fabric and trim library to aid fabric selection
Monitoring company spend by season on fabric sample development to department budget expectations
Populating the business tools and ensure working documents are kept up to date and relevant including design edits, sign off and partner events
What You'll Need:
A Degree in Textiles would be advantageous
Previous fabric development experience, preferably around 3 years in a similar role
Knowledge of RTW and Lingerie fabric
Good knowledge of lingerie construction and manufacturing processes
Creative mind set to think outside the box and create new and exciting products
Experience with European and Far East suppliers beneficial
Working knowledge of Adobe CC, Microsoft and excel
Flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel internationally
Clear communicator, responding promptly and accurately to all enquiries
