Arts Thread and TEX+ Unite to Nurture the Next Generation of Textile Talent

London – March - 2026 – Arts Thread has announced its continued partnership with TEX+ for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to supporting emerging textile graduates as they transition from education into professional careers.

TEX+ is a career accelerator designed to bridge the gap between the next generation of textile designers and industry professionals.

Through work placements, financial awards, best practice guidance, and peer-to-peer support, the programme aims to equip graduates from UK universities, colleges, and schools of art with the skills, networks, and confidence needed to build lasting careers in the textile industry.

For 2026, TEX+ will recognise excellence across five specialisms: Textile Print, Textile Knit, Textile Weave, Textile Mixed Media, and Textile Concept. Submissions will be evaluated against five key categories — Innovation & Creativity, Technical Excellence, Sustainability & Ethical Practice, Commercial & Market Potential, and Cultural & Social Impact — reflecting the breadth of skills and perspectives that define the future of the industry.

Shortlisted graduates will automatically become TEX+ Alumni, gaining access to ongoing support and community resources.

The 25 finalists will be showcased in London from 14 to 17 July 2026, providing a high-profile platform for emerging talent to connect with industry leaders and potential employers.

Submissions must be uploaded to the Arts Thread website by midnight on 8 May 2026.

Each submission should include a personal statement of up to 300 words, 10 to 20 examples of work including sketchbooks, and an optional one-minute video uploaded to Vimeo.
