Heimtextil 2027 Connects Interior Design, Quality And Global Sourcing For A Market Under Pressure

Frankfurt am Main, 14th October 2026 – With the new premium segment Carpets & Rugs Excellence, the Comfort & Connect area and the Heimtextil Trends 27/28, Heimtextil 2027 is sharpening its offering for a market under pressure.

Running from 12 to 15 January 2027, the leading trade fair for home and contract textiles and textile design will showcase innovations across the entire value chain, from fibres and yarns to designs by international studios, finished collections and complete interior solutions.

Today's textile products must prove their quality, functionality and long-term value. Consumers are scrutinising price, quality and durability, while geopolitical uncertainty complicates international supply chains.

Buyers are seeking textiles that perform reliably and partners who can consistently deliver agreed quality and volumes.

Against this backdrop, Heimtextil 2027 holds steady at the previous year's level, with around 2,900 exhibitors confirming the event's stability and international relevance.

"In a market that is increasingly difficult to predict, quality, reliability and strong personal relationships matter. At Heimtextil, trade visitors experience materials first-hand, discuss their requirements directly with manufacturers and find production partners capable of delivering the volumes they need. This combination of product experience, an international offering and personal exchange makes Heimtextil a reliable strategic partner for the industry – especially in a challenging market," says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

Under the title "Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living," Heimtextil and Milan-based design platform Alcova explore how spaces are expected to do more without demanding more from the people who use them.

The Heimtextil Trends 27/28 translate this into three approaches:

·       Staged Competence, which turns technical sophistication into aesthetic;

·       Inside, Out, which makes technology easier to understand through visible construction; and

·       Hyper Presence, which counters digital overstimulation with tactile, natural materials.

Architect and designer Patricia Urquiola joins the Trend Space, integrating her own pieces and continuing her material research from previous editions.

Carpets & Rugs is restructuring around purchasing and distribution channels for 2027, with the new premium segment Carpets & Rugs Excellence in Hall 11.0 featuring manufacturers selected by an independent expert jury for quality, workmanship and production expertise.

The new Comfort & Connect area in Hall 5.1 brings together bed and bath textiles, decorative cushions and home accessories, complementing the expanded Smart Bedding and Sleep & Meet offerings.

Hall 4.2 remains home to the world's largest trade fair offering for Textile Design, including the growing New Talent Area curated with Jennifer Castoldi.

Through Global Home, Heimtextil continues to serve as Europe's largest sourcing platform for home textiles, connecting buyers with volume manufacturers and private-label suppliers worldwide.
