Massive Delivers Striking Rainbow Row Floor Graphics At 2026 TCS London Marathon Using Alumigraphics Grip From Soyang Europe

Massive, a specialist provider of services to mass participation charity and outdoor events, has successfully delivered a series of high-performance floor graphics for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, utilising Alumigraphics Grip from Soyang Europe to meet the demanding requirements of one of the world's most celebrated road races.

Commissioned by Proud Events ahead of the race on Sunday 26 April, Massive was tasked with producing floor graphics to mark the start and end of Rainbow Row — a 250-metre stretch located just after mile 21, designed to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and promote inclusivity.

The result was two 5,000mm x 2,000mm rainbow-themed graphics that drew the attention of nearly 60,000 runners and countless spectators lining the Limehouse stretch of the course.

Given the exceptional footfall and the presence of support services vehicles, Massive required a material capable of withstanding significant physical demands without posing a safety risk to competitors.

Alumigraphics Grip, a durable foil-based floor covering produced by Soyang Europe, was selected for its proven performance in high-traffic environments.

The product's permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive allows for secure application across a range of surfaces — including asphalt, concrete, brick, and stone — while its slip-resistant textured surface eliminates the need for additional lamination. Following the event, the graphics were removed cleanly without the use of heat or chemicals.

"The initial conversation was to supply a larger floor graphic but after various conversations with Proud Events and London Marathon Events, we settled on two 5,000mm x 2,000mm graphics to 'bookend' the Rainbow Row area," said Ross Slaughter, Production Lead at Massive. "Our client was very happy with the install; we have only had positive feedback from the organisers."

Massive printed the graphics in-house using its HP Latex 360 before installing the application on-site ahead of race day.

The 2026 TCS London Marathon proved to be a historic occasion, with new World Records set in both the men's and women's races, as well as for the total number of finishers — making the visual impact of the Rainbow Row installation all the more significant.

The successful deployment further underscores the growing role that advanced material technologies play in delivering safe, visually compelling experiences at large-scale live events.
