Messe Frankfurt Drives Sustainability Innovation At Major Textile Industry Events In Shanghai

Shanghai, China – September 2025 – Messe Frankfurt has successfully concluded three major textile industry exhibitions in Shanghai, with sustainability taking centre stage as the key driver of innovation and collaboration across the sector.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Yarn Expo, and Cinte Techtextil China demonstrated the industry's commitment to transforming ideas into practical solutions for a more sustainable future.

The events showcased how innovation is being executed across the textile value chain, with particular emphasis on addressing sector-wide challenges including cost pressures, compliance requirements, supply chain resilience, and the urgent transition to net zero operations.

Messe Frankfurt's dedicated focus on sustainability was highlighted through the Econogy Talks programme, which generated significant interest and engagement from industry participants.

“I was delighted to share Messe Frankfurt’s commitment to sustainability across our textile fairs in the Econogy Talks – and encouraged by the great interest and feedback. Additionally, the Econogy Hub, with insights from more than 55 specialists, became a real hotspot for exchange and inspiration.” : Olaf Schmidt, Vice President at Messe Frankfurt,

The Econogy Hub emerged as a central point for knowledge exchange and inspiration, featuring insights from more than 55 industry specialists.

This collaborative platform facilitated meaningful discussions about climate-smart textile solutions and fostered new partnerships aimed at driving the industry forward.

Despite facing ongoing challenges around costs, compliance, and environmental responsibility, the exhibitions demonstrated a hands-on, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Industry professionals engaged in productive conversations that are expected to accelerate the development of more innovative, competitive, and environmentally conscious textile solutions.

The events facilitated the emergence of numerous pilots and partnerships, indicating strong momentum toward practical implementation of sustainable practices across the textile industry.

Each interaction and collaboration formed during the exhibitions represents progress toward the sector's broader sustainability goals.

Messe Frankfurt expressed gratitude to exhibitors, industry partners, CCPIT-Tex, visitors, and internal colleagues for their contributions to the success of the events and the energy generated on the exhibition floor.
