Charis Herrick is a textile print designer based in London.

Graduating from London College of Fashion, Charis Herrick inculcates sustainability within her practise using deadstock materials, organic materials, and pre-existing garments to create her collections.

Heavyily influenced by music, you can spot elements of sound across many of her archive collections.

Charis focuses on placement prints and layered repeat designs to create maximalist looks, conveying stories through textiles.

She creates collections that are mostly seasonless and unisex which means the clothing is more versatile and easily wearable at any time of the year.

The sound of OM is said to contain the universe.

It is the first sound from the beginning of time and encompasses the present and the future.

Music for me isn’t something I can just hear, it is something that heightens all senses. A certain sound can transport my mind to a different time and place.

Music for me is a form of escapism. Looking deeper into the meaning of sound and how to represent it, I started researching sacred geometry.

Music and Sacred Geometry both explore pattern, structure, and forms that exist in both music and nature.

It is an ancient science that can be used to explicate the energy patterns that create and unify the universe.

As a DJ, I like to mix music at 160 beats per minute, so combining my own mixing style with the sound of the universe ‘OM’, my collection is named 16OM; forming a deeper connection with this world through the vibrations of sound.
