March 9th, 2023 : Once again, IFM opened Paris Fashion Week® on February 27th, 2023 with its MA Fashion Design Graduate Show, for the first time in the form of a physical show on the IFM campus.
It presented the collections of 25 students of the Master of Arts in Fashion Design and Knitwear Design.
The students presenting their work will soon be graduating from a demanding two-year degree program at IFM which combines the development of a personal artistic and stylistic vocabulary and immersion in the realities of creative production through professional seminars and creative projects.
The Master of Arts in Fashion Design, directed by Leyla Neri, includes four specializations: Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Accessory Design and Fashion Image.
The 16 Fashion Image students will showcase their work next April, while the accessories collections of the 14 Accessory Design students will be unveiled at PFW® in September.
The 25 students opened Paris Fashion Week with collections comprised of five to seven looks.
In addition to the runway, IFM produced a film showcasing the Master of Arts collections in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Accessory Design and Fashion Image - 59 MA students with 16 different nationalities.
Shanon Poupard' s pastel knitted pieces feature motifs of floral pastures juxtaposed against war planes and falling bombs.
The collection explores the global response to trauma caused by the climate crisis and war and is compostable.
The theme of war was continued with Po-Chieh Chiu 's knitwear collection Army Dreamer and Gookhyun Lee 's Romantic Army collection of psychadelic men's tailoring: models carried metal helmets in recognition of the fact young men in South Korea must spend two years in the army.
Ju Bao presented a knitwear collective that cleverly imitated distressed denim, Salomé Bodin took on sportswear in knitwear while Chaewon Song 's collection features large 3D loops creating an optical illusion.
Eun Pyo Hong 's collection of wedding dresses is made from knitted filigree lace inspired by 16 th century Dutch painting and features a veil emblazoned with the slogan 'Just Married To Myself'.
Interior design and upholstery inspired Cristian Rocco Rizzo 's collection which includes crocheted trousers made from doilies and a puffer jacket covered in torn damask fabric that looked like an old sofa.
Lyurong Chen embellished her collection with fabric leaves that formed geometric patterns.
