‘Una Mozzifato Fiera Dei Disegni Tessile'—As The Comocrea Expo Restarts The International Textile Design Community

A restart beyond expectations.
This is the outcome of the 67° edition of Comocrea Textile Design Show, the international textile design exhibition which has been held on 25 and 26 October in Cernobbio, exceeding just on the first day the overall attendances of the last pre-pandemic edition.
Placed in the gorgeous setting of Villa Erba Exhibition Centre, the event welcomed about 200 specialized companies and over 350 visitors, with leading names of the textile sector coming from Italy and abroad to see the latest Spring-Summer 2023 collections by the most important European designers.
Many design directors from the local fashion industry, as well as a significant foreign presence, with buyers arrived from Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and Brazil.
All of them willing to face Covid-19 complications to international mobility just to see and touch in person again the quality and refinement of the designs of the 23 studios attending the exhibition, who benefited from doubled space stands in order to ensure full safety at the fair.
Comocrea President Stuart Sartori comments on the event: "Our expectations have been met. We are very satisfied with this positive response, which came despite the restrictive regulations that still prevent many of our customers from travelling. The influx is not only a demonstration of optimism: it reveals the huge need to return to see our collections live. We have also had some important customers that we had not seen for a few editions. This is a clear sign that the virtual experience is not able to replicate the emotional impact of touch and sight".
New design studios at the fair for their first time were fully satisfied too: Americans, British and Argentinians immediately expressed their intention to attend next appointments of Comocrea, which are scheduled for March and April 2022, with two separate exhibitions respectively dedicated to fashion design and furnishing fabrics design.
A strong desire to get back and exchange views among sector operators, but also the willingness to share moments together again, beyond professional commitments.
The event was in fact enriched by moments of convivial hospitality, with brunches and buffets offered to exhibitors and visitors, as well as an Italian aperitif at the end of the intense day of work to celebrate the long-awaited "restart".
All organized with the involvement of students from local professional schools.
High excellence, international outlook and strong bonds with the territory.
An encouraging success that aims to be a positive signal for the relaunch of the entire sector, for which Comocrea confirms its prestige and continues to represent a benchmark for international textile design.
