DUSSELDORF, 3 June 2024Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (EFI) proudly announces that UK-based The Delta Group has acquired its third EFI™ Nozomi press.

This latest addition, the EFI Nozomi 14000 SD single-pass printer for sign and display, positions The Delta Group at the forefront of digital transformation in the visual communications industry.

Innovating for Efficiency and Quality

The Delta Group, renowned for being the first in the UK to install a Nozomi press, now leads globally with three Nozomi presses under one roof. This strategic acquisition aligns with the company’s ongoing shift from analogue to digital production, enabling shorter runs, faster time to market, and exceptional print quality.

Martin Shipp, The Delta Group's Chief Operating Officer, shared, "Once we have made the transition to our new facility, I believe we will be the first company in the world to have three Nozomis under one roof."

Empowering Business with State-of-the-Art Technology

The Nozomi 14000 SD printer is specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of the sign and display graphics market. It offers unparalleled speed and efficiency, handling a wide range of substrates with brilliant color quality. This addition is set to revolutionize The Delta Group’s production capabilities, ensuring they remain competitive in a fast-evolving market.

Shipp elaborated, "With the Nozomis being up to five or six times faster than even the fastest multi-pass machines, we have been able to reduce our flatbed footprint down to about five across our network." This efficiency translates to a more sustainable operation, reflecting The Delta Group’s commitment to ethical and environmentally responsible business practices.

Enhancing Operational Excellence

The Delta Group's innovative approach includes a distributed platform where orders are received centrally and distributed to the most suitable site. This model ensures that customer delivery dates are met without compromise. The integration of Nozomi presses, which feature inline quality control cameras, has drastically reduced waste and overruns, further enhancing operational efficiency.

"Historically, retailers would order run lengths of 3,000 or more, suitable for offset. But now, instead of campaigns having five different items with a couple thousand of each, we are more commonly seeing campaigns that contain 250 different items with an order quantity of 500-ish each," Shipp explained. "This shift has truly pushed our transition from analogue to digital."

Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

The Delta Group’s investment in EFI’s Nozomi technology underscores its dedication to sustainability and innovation. By embracing cutting-edge digital printing solutions, they are not only meeting current market demands but also setting a benchmark for future advancements in the visual communications industry.

Visitors to drupa can view the Nozomi 14000 SD printer at EFI’s booth, located in Hall 9, Stand A20-1, from 28 May to 7 June 2024.
