Granthams GT of Preston recently put their HP Latex 365 and HP 700W Printer to the test to better demonstrate the differences and reasons why someone would consider upgrading to the latest HP Latex 700 / 800 Series.
They compared the print speeds, ink usage and overall quality, even when running at a lower pass rate.
Granthams GT supply both ranges, but have put this video together to provide a better insight into what the differences are and why someone might consider moving up to the newer generation.
The Test Results Favour The HP 700W
Reasons include: A smaller drop size and 50% more nozzles means the new generation can achieve higher saturation and improved resolution at lower pass rates.
Overcoat was commonly known as the “anti-scratch agent” in the HP Latex 300 Series and was pre-mixed with each colour.
Overcoat is now supplied in its own cartridge, so when you laminate you can choose to remove it to save on ink.
Lower curing temperatures mean the new generation can support more medias (thinner papers, heat sensitive stock).
Lower temperatures also contributes to lower power consumption.
The 700 Series only requires standard plugs (compared to 2x 16-amp on the L365).
Fast and easy spindle-free loading up to 55kg, as well as unprecedented media access and reduced media waste with the raisable curing module.
The large 8-inch Touchscreen Front Panel has a 500GB Hard Drive and can now store up to 100 jobs without needing to re-RIP or re-connect to the computer.
The ideal solution for window graphics and clear decals / stickers.
White ink that doesn’t yellow over time, with automatic maintenance and higher opacity compared to Solvent White.
