Texia Finishing , a company specialized in printing and finishing fabrics for the fashion sector, has opted for Epson to develop more sustainable production processes.

As part of its digital transformation strategy, the company has incorporated  Epson 's 16-channel Monna Lisa Evo Tre 32 model  , which provides a range of high-quality and precise colors and allows the deployment of digital textile production processes that are more respectful of the environment. planet.

The versatility of the 16 channels of the Epson Monna Lisa, added to its ability to work short runs, and the excellent performance of the pigments, has allowed Texia to optimize its production, saving costs and betting on sustainability.

Direct digital printing on fabric also avoids the need to use cylinders to make fabric drawings, which helps reduce costs since these cylinders are expensive.

At the same time, the absence of cylinders also avoids the need for storage space, thus being able to better optimize space.

In this project, Texia was looking for a solution that would provide the maximum brightness in colors, especially in reds and blues, as well as a correct reproduction of blacks.

All this with the resistance, durability and reliability that your activity requires. Ana Guasch , industrial director of Texia, points out that they opted for Monna Lisa "because it made a difference compared to the rest" and, furthermore, "the head technology, which works in a vacuum and without heat, allows us to continuously produce with the pigment, And it makes our job easier.”

Unlike the rest of digital prints, the pigment needs special characteristics when working with resins.

Epson's cold-working technology helps avoid head crosslinking problems. In addition, all the colorants work in a vacuum inside the machine, which eliminates possible problems of circuit saturation.

A Commitment To Sustainability

Another crucial element when choosing a new solution fell on sustainability, one of the pillars of Texia, which two years ago decided to invest in digital technology as part of the sustainable transformation that the fashion sector is undergoing.

Marcos Guasch , CEO of Texia, explains that “in digital printing, all the color is deposited directly on the fabric, which is key to reducing the environmental impact, since it will not require washing or generating residual dyes. Therefore, all the costs associated with water purification are avoided and, in addition, the water footprint in subsequent washing processes is considerably reduced”.

For his part,  Josep Maria Coll , director of the Commercial & Industrial Printing division of Epson Ibérica, has remarked that "the collaboration with Texia guarantees, once again, our firm commitment to the digitization of the textile sector." At Epson we believe that this is a key sector in the future, which will require technological solutions such as Monna Lisa that, in addition to offering excellent quality results, respect the precepts of sustainability and the circular economy”.

Next Generation EU Funds

Texia's transformation project, which includes the participation of Epson, was presented to apply for Next Generation EU funds for its link to the digital and sustainable transformation of the industry.

The proposal, which implied a practically total transition of the company's processes towards digital printing environments, was finally accepted, being the first of its kind approved in all of Catalonia.
