This week Surface Print, of Clayton Le Moors in Lancashire, are celebrating Family Business Week, which honours  the contribution family businesses make to the community and economy.

Surface Print are proud to be one of 5 million family run businesses in the UK.

Founded 30 years ago by John Watson, the current chairman, who has over 60 years’ experience in the wallpaper industry, Surface Print is led by John’s children; James and Abigail Watson.

The Watson family really do have wallpaper in their blood and this brother and sister team are the 4th generation of the family to be involved.

Their love of wallpaper can be traced back over a century to 1888 when their great grandfather Walter Watson joined Crown Wallpaper in Darwen as a trainee and quickly rose to become Managing Director.

Preserving local skills in Lancashire is crucial to the family, ensuring the knowledge is passed down through the generations keeping the craft alive.
